Opening & Closing Ceremonies and Medal Ceremonies

Whilst better known for our extensive experience in planning and staging relays for various games organisations we also have experience in Opening & Closing Ceremonies and producing medal ceremonies. Our extensive network of international partners such as Five Currents and David Grant Special Events to name but a few, permits Maxxam International to bring to the table a wealth of knowledge across different fields of expertise.

Alongside our business networks we have also established an extensive network of contacts and relationships with the International Olympic Committee (IOC), National Olympic Committees (NOC’s), International Olympic Sponsors, Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF), Commonwealth Games Associations (CGA’s) & Asian Federations.

Parades, Festivals & Launches

Also within our range of services is experience in producing parades, festivals and special launches.

Our team have created, built, managed and delivered many special events such as sponsor announcements, logo unveiling and launches, Mascot launches and promotions, countdown events, the Sydney Mardi Gras and the Sydney Royal Easter Show.

Games Bid Campaigns

Our team have expertise and a proven track record on international Olympic Summer and Winter bid campaigns including the successful Sochi 2014 Winter Olympic Bid and the Paris 2012 Olympic Bid. Our involvement includes:
  • All facets of the global PR/Media campaign.
  • Management of international visiting journalists programmes.
  • Coordination of official media conferences.
  • Overall management of ad campaigns and presentations.
  • Coordination of IOC Evaluation Commission visits.
  • Set up and management of the P2012 Media Centre, media relations/PR for Paris 2012 during the Athens 2004 Olympic Games.
  • developing and implementing the international strategic communications and media relations plan.
  • Management of Global Media Team based in Paris, New York, London and Australia.
  • Responsible for key events, IOC General Assembly and notably Bid Voting and announcement.

2001 AMP Centenary of Federation Tour

Produced by Avery Events, members of the Maxxam team were responsible for the advance reconnaissance planning, sell in and negotiation with local governments and for the operational delivery of the food and beverage elements for breakfast seminars and evening cocktail functions for both the general public and existing AMP clientele.

The tour was a travelling exhibition, celebrating a Centenary of Federation. The tour travelled to every State & Territory over a 10 month period, visiting almost 40 cities across the country.
